Formed in 1846 from part of Schuylkill Township, Blythe Township, PA, is located in Schuylkill County and was named in honor of state legislator Calvin Blythe. Rooted deeply in the anthracite coal industry, the township was once a bustling hub of mining towns, collieries, and company-built patch villages.
